Learn botanical hand-building with Lita Clay! 

Dates of class: 5/9, 5/16, 5/23 10am-1pm

In this workshop we will cover the basics of sculpting a variety of flowers, leaves, and other organic forms with clay. Recreate the natural symmetry found in your favorite plants and flowers in standalone sculptures or embellishments. We’ll focus on sculpting biotics by tying in workable, easy-to-follow processes and influencing your approach towards organic forms. This three-week workshop will cover sculpting botanical basics, how to firmly attach your designs onto a form and glazing. Glazed will complete all firing and you will have a space to store your projects during the class.

All materials cost and firing is included.

What you learn:

• Day 1: Learn how to sculpt delicate flowers, leaves and vines

• Day 2: Use your new skills to decorate a mug or leather hard piece of your choice

• Day 3: Get wild with Elise’s favorite Spectrum glazes and learn how she achieves her unique style

These classes are set up on a really tight schedule and late students make the class harder for everyone else. Please keep in mind traffic can be wacky and reference our parking guide in our confirmation email for how to best locate the studio. Please show up on time, or even a little early ;).

We are not able to provide make up classes or refunds, please consider a different class if you cannot make all 3 days.

Feel free to bring drinks and snacks, you must be 21+ to drink alcohol and no glass containers. Please note masks are not mandatory in the studio but any one is welcome to wear them, we also can set up a work table set back a bit for the purposes of social distancing. *A 6-person minimum is required to run the class, if we do not meet the minimum we will reach out and let you know the class has been refunded and canceled, or try to find a time to reschedule.

Glazed pieces will be ready to be picked up May 31st and you have one month to pick them up before they are considered abandoned.

We are open Monday-Thursday 5:30-8pm and Sundays 12-5pm for pick up (Sundays are best!).
