Earthen Dec 4th-20th at 40 West Gallery
Whats happening?
40 West Gallery has invited Glazed students and members to enter pieces into a multimedia show featuring ceramics along side selected wall art that embodies the theme of Earthen.
What can I submit?
We have 2 ways you can submit work to be shown. Items will be Juried by Christian Smith and Garnet Glaze.
Option A: Larger pieces or a set of pieces that you want sold together. These items will be showcased on either a wall or a podium. Items will remain on show for the entirety of the show. We have limited spaces for these pieces, so please only submit your best work. Items have the option of not being for sale if you would like to just show it off. All pieces may not be selected as space is limited.
Option B: Cups, mugs and small items sold individually. These items will be part of a Mug/Cup sale table that will be set up more like a traditional pottery sale with lots of items all placed next to each other. These items are a buy and carry and will only stay out until someone purchases it. We will be restocking this table through out the month, so you are encouraged to submit many items. All items on this table must be for sale.
Whats the cut?
40 west takes 15% and Glazed takes 10% + Sales tax. What does this mean? The price listed in the gallery is what folks will pay, sales tax included. 40 west takes %15 and then sends the rest to Glazed. Glazed then pays the sales tax on what we receive and then takes %10 of the pretax number to cover costs in labor and marketing. The rest will be payed out to the artists individually. You do not have to pay sales tax on what you receive.
When Can I apply?
Applications will be open September 1st-20th. We will consider works in progress and examples of smaller items that you plan on making such as a sample mug that you have made but a plan to make 10 more. Pots with flaws (cracking, glaze pulls, ect) will not be accepted. We will announce selections on September 28th.
